The company serves about 4 million subscribers over its nationwide cellular network based on GSM (global system for mobile communications) technology. In addition to mobile telecom services, which include voice and data transmission as well as multimedia downloads and mobile Web access, Vodafone Portugal offers fixed-line voice and data telecom services to corporate clients throughout the country. The company is a subsidiary of UK-based wireless phone carrier Vodafone Group.
