Some Internet ventures worry about cash, but Interactive Search Holdings is happy to give it away. Also known as The Excite Network, the firm's holdings include iWon, a portal Web site that rewards registered users through cash prizes, as well as portal Excite.com, Internet search firms My Way and My WebSearch, and online advertising sales firm MaxOnline. In December 2003, Interactive Search Holdings' properties reached 17% of US Internet users. The company was founded in 1999 by co-CEOs Bill Daugherty and Jonas Steinman. Investors include JPMorgan Partners, Bain Capital, and Viacom. In 2004 Ask Jeeves purchased Interactive Search Holdings for $501 million in a stock and cash deal.
