Mesa Royalty Trust has set a royal table for its stockholders. The trust owns royalty interests in oil and gas properties in the Hugoton Field in Kansas, the Yellow Creek field of Wyoming, and the San Juan Basin in northwestern New Mexico and southwestern Colorado. Mesa Royalty Trust receives royalties based on the amount of oil and gas produced and sold by those drilling on the properties (BP, ConocoPhillips, and Pioneer Natural Resources) and distributes them quarterly to shareholders. In 2008 the trust reported proved reserves of 9.5 billion cu. ft. of gas, and about 610,000 barrels of oil.
