Keystone Consolidated Industries can wire your world. The company, mainly through its Keystone Steel & Wire division, makes fabricated wire products, including fencing, barbed wire, welded wire, and woven wire mesh for the agricultural, construction, and do-it-yourself markets. Many of its products are sold under the Red Brand label. A vertically integrated company with its own steel mininmill, Keystone also makes industrial wire -- used to make such items as barbecue grills, coat hangers, and nails -- and carbon steel rod. Through holding company Contran, Dallas billionaire Harold Simmons (brother of Keystone chairman Glenn Simmons) is the largest investor in Keystone, holding almost two-thirds of its stock.
