Don't let the name fool you -- Illinois Tool Works (ITW) hammers out a lot more than just tools, and it operates well beyond the Land of Lincoln. With more than 800 separate operations in about 50 nations, ITW makes a range of products used in the automotive, construction, electronics, food and beverage, paper products, and pharmaceuticals industries. The company's engineered products segment offers fasteners, nail guns, industrial adhesives, and automotive transmission components. Its specialty systems segment drives products such as paint application equipment and welding machines. ITW gets about half of its sales in North America.
