Money might not grow on trees, but the green does grow on this tree. Green Tree Servicing is one of the largest servicers of manufactured home loans in the US; it also services subprime residential mortgages, home equity lines of credit, and consumer installment loans. All told, the company's portfolio totals some $24 billion in more than 700,000 accounts. Green Tree services loans for its own account and performs outsourced collection services as well. It also sells homeowners insurance and other consumer property/casualty coverage. The company has about 30 offices across the US. A consortium that includes private equity firm Centerbridge Partners and Green Tree's management acquired the company in 2007.
