When it comes to building cars, it starts with the parts. Dana manufactures many of the parts carmakers use to piece together new vehicles. Its core products include axles and driveshafts, as well as sealing, thermal, and structural products. Among its customers are OEMs such as Chrysler, Ford, General Motors, and Toyota. The company also supplies companies that make commercial and off-highway vehicles, such as PACCAR and Navistar. Dana filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection from creditors in 2006 and emerged in 2008. Customers in North America account for around half of Dana's sales.
