AIG Retirement Services has an eye towards its clients' secure futures. The group's subsidiaries sell a variety of investment products, including fixed annuities (Western National Life Insurance); group retirement for education, health care, and not-for-profit organizations (VALIC); variable annuities and asset management (AIG SunAmerica Life Assurance); mutual funds (AIG SunAmerica Asset Management); and retirement planning (AIG SunAmerica Retirement Markets). Broker-dealer affiliates include Advantage Capital and SagePoint Financial (formerly AIG Financial Advisors). AIG Retirement is a subsidiary of ailing insurer American International Group (AIG), which in 2009 cancelled plans to sell the retirement lines.
