Thanks to companies like Bemis, modern delectables such as potato chips and snack cakes have longer shelf lives than most marriages. Bemis makes a broad line of flexible packaging materials, including polymer films, barrier laminates, and paper-bag packaging that customers in the food industry use to package all manner of edibles. In addition to bags, Bemis also produces pressure-sensitive products ranging from label paper and graphic films to thin-film adhesives. Although Bemis' primary market is the food industry, the company also sells to the agricultural, chemical, medical, personal care, and printing industries. The US accounts for about two-thirds of sales.
