American Land Lease wants to make the American Dream an American Reality, especially during the golden years. A self-managed real estate investment trust (REIT), American Land Lease owns, develops, renovates, and manages manufactured housing communities. It owns about 30 communities in Alabama, Arizona, and Florida; properties include some 11,000 leased, developed, and undeveloped homesites and RV parks. In light of growing senior demographics, American Land Lease operates its properties primarily as retirement communities. The REIT's communities often feature swimming pools, golf courses, and clubhouses. Through a subsidiary, American Land Lease also sells manufactured homes.
