It's full steam ahead for APL. The company, a subsidiary of Singapore's Neptune Orient Lines, is one of the largest US-based container shipping companies. The company's fleet of about 140 containerships serves more than 90 ports in the Americas, the Asia/Pacific region, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. APL deploys containers and chassis worldwide, and partnerships enable the company to offer intermodal transportation -- movement of freight through combinations of ship, train, and truck. The liner operator coordinates its offerings with those of a sister company, APL Logistics, which provides supply chain management services.
