On February 13, 2013, Meritage Homes Corporation (the "Company") paid discretionary cash bonuses to certain of its employees and officers. These bonuses, which were approved by the Company's Executive Compensation Committee, were in recognition of the employees' efforts and accomplishments during 2012. Included in these bonus awards were payments to the following executive officers:

Larry W. Seay, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer $ 50,000

C. Timothy White, Executive Vice President and General Counsel $ 125,000
