On January 16, 2013, Jon R. Whitney resigned as a director of CVR GP, LLC, the
general partner of CVR Partners, LP. His resignation was in connection with his
appointment to the board of directors of CVR Refining GP, LLC, the general
partner of CVR Refining, LP (NYSE: CVRR). CVR Refining, LP is an affiliate of
CVR Partners, LP. CVR Energy, Inc. owns the general partner and a majority of
the common units representing limited partner interests in CVR Refining, LP and
CVR Partners, LP.
