On January 16, 2013, Nicolaas Arnold's employment as Cepheid's Executive Vice President, Worldwide Commercial Operations, was terminated.

Item 8.01 Other Events.

Following the termination of Mr. Arnold's employment, Philippe Jacon, Cepheid's Executive Vice President, Emerging Markets, will be responsible for all of Cepheid's international commercial operations. Cepheid has commenced a search to hire an executive to lead Cepheid's North American commercial operations.
