Item 8.01 Other Events.

On January 10, 2013, FreightCar America, Inc. (the "Company") announced that the Board of Directors (the "Board") of the Company has elected William D. Gehl as non-executive Chairman of the Board, effective immediately. Mr. Gehl succeeds Thomas M. Fitzpatrick, who served as the Company's non-executive Chairman of the Board since March 2007 and will continue to serve as a director of the Company.
