On January 4, 2013, LaSalle Hotel Properties (the "Company") issued a press release announcing the Company's acquisition of The Liberty Hotel in Boston, Massachusetts for $170.0 million. A copy of such press release is furnished as Exhibit 99.1 to this report.

ITEM 8.01. OTHER EVENTS.
The Company acquired The Liberty Hotel in Boston, Massachusetts for $170.0 million. The Company owns a 99.99% interest in the hotel and the original developer, an entity controlled by Dick Friedman of Carpenter & Company, Inc., retained a 0.01% interest in the hotel. The Company funded the transaction with proceeds from its sale of common shares on December 19, 2012. The 298-room full service, luxury hotel is located at 215 Charles Street in the Beacon Hill neighborhood of Boston.
