Harris & Harris Group, Inc. (the "Company") noted the announcement by its portfolio company, Solazyme, Inc., (NASDAQ: SZYM) that it has successfully achieved commercial scale production metrics, exhibited linear scalability of its process from laboratory scale, and demonstrated the ability to run at this scale without contamination.

The Company's press release is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1.
