Appointment of Certain Officers; Compensatory Arrangements of Certain Officers.
On December 13, 2012, the Board of Directors of National Western Life Insurance
Company (the "Company") appointed Kitty K. Nelson to the position of Senior Vice
President, Chief Actuary, effective January 1, 2013. She succeeds Paul D. Facey
who is retiring from the Company as of December 31, 2012.
Mrs. Nelson (ASA, MAAA) joined the Company in November 2002 and most recently
served in the capacity of Vice President, Valuation Actuary.
