Item 2.02 Results of Operations and Financial Condition.

On November 29, 2012, Health Management Associates, Inc. (the "Company") issued a press release regarding a management conference call and webcast scheduled for November 30, 2012 in anticipation of a news segment on the television program 60 Minutes expected to air on December 2, 2012. Management believes that such news segment will focus on certain aspects of the Company's operations. The Company's press release is attached as Exhibit 99.1 to this Current Report on Form 8-K.
