Item 1.04 Mine Safety - Reporting of Shutdowns and Patterns of Violations.
On November 28, 2012, Hecla Mining Company's Lucky Friday Mine, located in
Mullan, Idaho, received notice from the Mine Safety and Health Administration
(MSHA) about a potential pattern of violations of mandatory health or safety
standards under Section 104(e) of the Federal Mine Safety and Health Act of
1977. The notice indicated that because the Lucky Friday is in non-producing
status, MSHA will postpone action on this matter until further notice.
