Item 7.01. Regulation FD Disclosure.

On November 27, 2012, Hampton Roads Bankshares, Inc., the holding company for The Bank of Hampton Roads ("BHR") and Shore Bank, announced that Michael J. Sykes has been appointed to head BHR's newly-formed Commercial Real Estate Lending Unit as a Senior Vice President.

A copy of the press release making such announcement is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1 and is incorporated herein by reference.
