On November 12, 2012, George J. Puentes informed StanCorp Financial Group, Inc. ("StanCorp") of his decision not to stand for re-election as a member of StanCorp's Board of Directors at the 2013 Annual Meeting of Shareholders. Mr. Puentes has served on the Board since 2009 and serves as a member of the Organization and Compensation Committee and Audit Committee. Mr. Puentes' decision not to stand for re-election is due to increasing time commitments outside of StanCorp. His decision is not the result of any disagreements with the Board.
