Item 5.02 Departure of Directors or Principal Officers; Election of Directors; Appointment of Principal Officers

Effective October 25, 2012, John C. Pollok, Senior Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer, and Chief Operating Officer of SCBT Financial Corporation ("SCBT"), has been elected as a member of the Board of Directors of SCBT. Mr. Pollok's 26 plus years of experience in banking and 16 years with SCBT is a welcome addition to the board's leadership team. A copy of the Corporation's press release is attached as Exhibit 99.1 to this report and incorporated herein by reference.
