(b) On August 31, 2012, Celia A. DeBiase, Executive Vice President and Chief
Risk Officer of New Century Bancorp, Inc. (the "Company") and its wholly-owned
subsidiary, New Century Bank, resigned from her positions with the Company and
New Century Bank. Ms. DeBiase's resignation was not due to any disagreement with
the Company regarding the Company's operations, policies, or practices.
