On August 28, 2012, the United States Patent and Trademark Office issued U.S. Patent No. 8,252,809, entitled "Compositions for Treating Insomnia," pursuant to a patent application filed by Transcept Pharmaceuticals, Inc. ("Transcept"). This patent includes claims directed to compositions for treating middle-of-the-night insomnia and will expire no earlier than 2025.
