On August 14, 2012, Synergy Pharmaceuticals Inc. (the "Company") issued a press release announcing that its Phase IIb/III plecanatide study in chronic idiopathic constipation had achieved its enrollment target of 880 patients on August 13, 2012. A copy of the press release is attached as Exhibit 99.1 hereto and incorporated herein by reference.
