Item 8.01. Other Events

On August 1, 2012, Ellington Financial LLC (the "Company") issued a press release announcing that its Board of Directors had declared a quarterly dividend of $0.70 per share for the second quarter of 2012. The dividend will be paid on September 17, 2012 to shareholders of record on September 1, 2012. A copy of the press release is filed herewith as Exhibit 99.1 to this current report on Form 8-K and is incorporated herein by reference.
