On April 27, 2012, Aware Inc. announced that its Board of Directors declared a special cash dividend of $1.15 per share payable to the company's common stockholders (approximately $24 million in the aggregate). The record date for the special cash dividend will be the close of business on May 11, 2012 and the payable date for the special cash dividend will be May 25, 2012.

The special cash dividend will be funded with cash on hand as the Board of Directors has determined that the company's current cash balances exceed the company's capital requirements.
