On October 19, 2009, QLT Inc. issued a press release announcing that it had entered into an Amended and Restated PDT Product Development, Manufacturing and Distribution Agreement with Novartis Pharma AG under which, effective January 1, 2010, it will, among other things, receive exclusive U.S. rights to the VisudyneŽ patents to sell and market Visudyne in the U.S. A copy of the press release is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1 and is incorporated herein by reference.
