Item 8.01. Other Events

On October 15, 2009, Electro Rent Corporation issued a press release announcing its selection as Agilent's sole Authorized Technology Partner for the United States and Canada. The newly signed agreement, effective December 1, will provide customers an additional way to purchase Agilent's electronic test and measurement products. The agreement is expected to be material to Electro Rent's operations and Electro Rent plans to add more than 50 people to its sales and support staff to serve Agilent's customers. A copy of the press release is furnished as Exhibit 99.1 to this report.
