On October 6, 2009, the Board of Directors of Superior Bancorp, acting on the recommendation of the Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee of the Board, appointed K. Earl Durden to serve as a director of Superior Bancorp and its subsidiary, Superior Bank, for a term expiring at the 2010 Annual Meeting of Stockholders of Superior Bancorp. Mr. Durden has not yet been appointed to any committees of the Board of Directors.
