ITEM 8.01. OTHER INFORMATION
On September 16, 2009, H. J. Heinz Company ("the Company") completed the sale of
its Kabobs frozen hors d'oeuvres business within the U.S. Foodservice segment.
The Kabobs business had annual sales of approximately $17 million in Fiscal Year
2009. The disposal transaction included one factory in Lake City, Georgia. As a
result of this transaction, the Company will recognize a pretax loss of
approximately $15 million ($10 million after-tax), which will be recorded in
discontinued operations. The sale is not expected to significantly affect the
Company's profit on a continuing operations basis going forward.
