(b) Effective September 11, 2009, Thomas Caulfield resigned as the Executive
Vice President, Sales, Marketing, and Customer Satisfaction of Novellus Systems,
Inc. (the "Company").
Executive Vice President Timothy Archer will take over responsibility for
worldwide Sales, Marketing and Customer Satisfaction and Executive Vice
President Fusen Chen will assume responsibility for all of the Company's
semiconductor business units.
