As previously reported by Hanger Orthopedic Group, Inc. (the "Company"), the United States Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of New York (the "US Attorney's Office") initiated an investigation in June 2004 regarding allegations of billing discrepancies at the Company's West Hempstead, New York patient-care center. Based upon communications with the US Attorney's Office, it is the Company's understanding that the US Attorney's Office will not file any criminal charges or pursue any False Claims Act remedies against the Company related to the alleged billing discrepancies.
