On September 3, 2009, Family Dollar Stores, Inc. (the "Company") issued a news release that reported sales for the fourth fiscal quarter (the "fourth quarter") and fiscal year ended August 29, 2009. The Company also reaffirmed its earnings guidance for the fourth quarter. A copy of the news release is attached hereto as Exhibit 99 and is incorporated herein by reference.
