Steven C. Gilbert has been named Senior Vice President Chief Operating Officer of Supertel Hospitality, Inc. effective August 27, 2009. Mr. Gilbert joined the Company as Senior Vice President of CAP-EX in July 2001. Mr. Gilbert, age 60, had previously served as Senior Vice President of CAP-EX for Humphrey Hospitality Management, Inc. (1999-2001) and for old Supertel Hospitality, Inc. (1991-1999). Mr. Gilbert worked in various sales, purchasing and construction management positions prior to joining old Supertel Hospitality, Inc. in 1991. Mr. Gilbert is party to an employment agreement with the Company dated June 30, 2008, a copy of which has been previously filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
