Entry into a Material Definitive Agreement, Other Events, Financial S
On August 24, 2009, Startech Environmental Corporation (the "Company") entered into Amendment No. 1 ("Amendment No. 1") to the Rights Agreement (the "Rights Agreement") between the Company and Corporate Stock Transfer, Inc., as Rights Agent (the "Rights Agent"), dated as of July 24, 2009. Amendment No. 1 extends the "Expiration Date," as defined in the Rights Agreement, from August 24, 2009 to September 23, 2009, provided that if the rights shall become exercisable at or before the close of business on September 23, 2009, the "Expiration Date" shall mean September 23, 2014. Amendment No. 1 is attached hereto as Exhibit 4.1 and is incorporated herein by reference.
On August 24, 2009, the Company issued a press release announcing the amendment to the Rights Agreement. A copy of the press release is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1 and is incorporated herein by reference.
