On August 20, 2009, World Heart Corporation issued a press release announcing that it has received FDA conditional approval to begin a bridge-to-transplant (BTT) study of the Levacor™ Ventricular Assist Device (VAD) at ten US centers.

A copy of the press release is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1 and is incorporated herein by reference.
