On July 31, 2009, New Century Bancorp, Inc. (the "Registrant") announced financial results for the second quarter ended June 30, 2009. For the second quarter of 2009, the Registrant reported a net loss of ($253,000), compared to net income of $404,000 for the same period in 2008. Basic and diluted earnings
(loss) per share for the second quarter of 2009 were ($0.04), compared to $0.06 for the second quarter of 2008.
