Item 2.01. Completion of Acquisition or Disposition of Assets.

On July 31, 2009, National Health Investors, Inc. issued a press release announcing the purchase of a fourth skilled nursing facility in Texas owned by an affiliate of Legend Healthcare, LLC. A copy of the press release is filed as Exhibit 99 to this Current Report on Form 8-K and is incorporated by reference herein.
