Item 8.01 Other Events.

On July 28, 2009, USEC Inc. ("USEC") issued a press release announcing that the U.S. Department of Energy had advised USEC that it would not proceed with USEC's application for a loan guarantee to complete construction of the American Centrifuge Plant in Piketon, Ohio. A copy of the press release is attached as Exhibit 99.1 and is incorporated herein by reference.
