(b) Retirement of Named Executive Officer

On July 20, 2009, Universal Forest Products, Inc., a Michigan corporation (the "Registrant"), announced the retirement of William G. Currie as the Registrant's Executive Chairman, effective July 20, 2009. Mr. Currie will remain Chairman of the Registrant's Board of Directors. A copy of the press release issued by the Registrant to announce the retirement is attached to this Current Report as Exhibit 99.
