a) Amendment to the Registrant's Code of Ethics

On July 1, 2009, the Board of Directors of Union Bankshares, Inc., (the "Company") approved an amended Code of Ethics for all employees, officers and directors of the Company. The changes to the Code were mostly wording and clarification changes not substantive. The amended Code of Ethics is attached to this Form 8-K as Exhibit 99.1.
