Mr. David H. Fogg was elected a director of Sandy Spring Bancorp, Inc. at the regular meeting of the board of directors on June 24, 2009. He will serve on the Audit Committee.

Mr. Fogg, age 53, is Vice President and Treasurer of General Dynamics Corporation, a leading aerospace and defense company headquartered in Falls Church, Virginia where he has been employed for 18 years.

The Company issued a news release announcing the appointment of Mr. Fogg on June 25, 2009. A copy of the news release is included as Exhibit 99.1 to this report and is incorporated herein by reference.
