Item 7.01. Regulation FD disclosure.

On June 25, 2009, Newmont Mining Corporation, a Delaware corporation ("Newmont") announced that it had successfully completed the acquisition of the remaining 33.33% interest in the Boddington project in Western Australia from AngloGold Ashanti Australia Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of AngloGold Ashanti Ltd. and as a result, Newmont now owns 100% of the Boddington project.

A copy of Newmont's news release announcing the closing of the acquisition and describing the project is attached as Exhibit 99.1 hereto and is incorporated herein by reference.
