b) On June 19, 2009, by mutual agreement with the Company, Zebulun D. Horowitz,
MD resigned as Senior Vice President, Chief Medical Officer of Savient
Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (the "Company") to pursue other interests. Dr. Horowitz'
resignation was not due to any disagreement with the Company on any matter
relating to the Company's operations, policies or practices.
