On June 15, 2009, Superconductor Technologies Inc. (the "Company") issued a
press release announcing that it has completed the submission of two proposals
in response to a request for concept papers requiring funding from the Advanced
Research Projects Agency - Energy, a branch of the U.S. Department of Energy.
Both proposals were made jointly with GE Global Research, a subsidiary of
General Electric (NYSE:GE). A copy of the press release is attached hereto as
Exhibit 99.1 and incorporated herein by reference.
