On June 15, 2009, Medicis Pharmaceutical Corporation (the "Company"), the
parent company of Medicis Technologies Corporation and Medicis Aesthetics Canada
Ltd., announced that Health Canada has issued a Medical Device License
(MDL) authorizing the sale of the LIPOSONIX™ System Model 1 in Canada. A press
release dated June 15, 2009 announcing receipt of the MDL from Health Canada is
attached as Exhibit 99.1 hereto and is incorporated herein by reference.
