On June 10, 2009, the Company issued a press release announcing that the Company has been selected by the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) for a project award valued at $2 million, subject to negotiations for the project contract. The award would provide partial funding for 1 megawatt (MW) of flywheel energy storage in Stephentown, New York - the first of 20 MW that Beacon expects to build and operate on the site.
