Item 8.01. Other Events.

On June 1, 2009, Vantage Drilling Company, a Cayman Islands exempted company (the "Company"), issued a press release announcing that its ultra-premium jackup rig, the Sapphire Driller, was awarded a contract for a drilling program in West Africa with an anticipated duration of three to six months. Additionally, the press release announced that the Company was awarded a second contract for one of its ultra-premium jackup rigs for a 2011 drilling program in West Africa with an estimated duration of six to twelve months. The Company may use any one of its four Baker Marine Pacific Class 375 jackup rigs to perform its obligations under the second contract. A copy of the press release is filed as Exhibit 99.1 and is incorporated into this Current Report on Form 8-K by reference.
